We see them around us, we struggle to associate with them.
Their miserly lives ever glare before us. .

The doors we enter are shut before them.

The privileges we enjoy are not open to them.

They seek to survive,  express themselves and live like us.

They struggle to make ends meet and their children can’t afford to go to school.

Worst hit by the pandemic, bedeviled by loneliness and endless thoughts of what the future holds, the fear of the unknown is their bane.

We are easily offended by their actions

We make excuses for our friends but change the goal post when it is their turn.

We treat our pets as more important than them.
The most uninformed among use their pictures as memes.

These people are no less humans.

Their condition is not an ailment.

They are managing to survive in a world where darkness looms.

In a world where they seem less important

They are no fewer humans 

They seek to live as we do. 

They deserve our sympathy 

They deserve our compassion.

They deserve our empathy 

They deserve our love 

They deserve to live 

They are humans and deserve equal love, support, care, and respect.

That we are better than doesn’t mean we should look down on them
